Built as a Court House and jail (bridewell) in 1824-1828 to a design by Cork-based architect George R.
A t-shaped church with galleried transepts,
An early description of the church and school which opened in 1826: ‘St.
Originally constructed as a market house,
A fine stone terrace overlooking the leafy Mall which was once the fashionable centre of Armagh.
Alongside the Mall, where there are several fine terraces of house,
Rebuilt in 1827 on the site of an earlier house,
Designed for the Shirley family by the historian Thomas Rickman and which is his only Irish commission,
Opened 20 Sep 1827. Demolished to make way for Presbyterian Assembly building.
