Foundation stone laid by Andrew Carnegie in 1903 with the building opening in 1905.
Constructed on the corner Wellington Place and Fountain Street,
Still in business today but unrecognisable from its early 20th century appearance.
Existing hotel acquired by the Midland Railway Northern Counties Committee,
A new Gothic style Church erected to a design of the architect William Hague and carried out under superintendence of T.F.McNamara.
Closed and converted into a restaurant,
Only the school wing was constructed.
