The Herne Bay Convalescent Home was the first of ten homes to be opened by the Railway Industry for railway workers;
Designed by S B Russell, who also designed the Plaistow Library and the West Ham Museum,
Started in 1901 but not completed until 1903 as the headquarters of the British &
Rear Perspective View & vignette sketch.

Part of a fantastic streetscape of brick and terracotta –
Unsuccessful entry in architectural competition to design a memorial for Queen Victoria for the front of Buckingham Palace.
