The original building on this site was constructed in the 1870s.
Dating from 1905, the former Canadian Bank of Commerce building at 744 Queen Street East has an especially attractive bowed facade.
St. Catharines established a free public library in 1888. The library board received a $25,000 gift from Andrew Carnegie in December 1901.
Almost identical to other Normal Schools constructed in Stratford,
