2014 – Entrance Pavilion, Assiniboine Park Zoo, Winnipeg

A new entrance to Winnipeg Zoo, designed to symbolise the rejuvenation of what was a very tired facility. The building is a single story structure with a central glazed box with a dramatic exposed roof. The interior space has a number of tree-like metal columns which branch outward as they travel upwards. The lighting of the roof looks particularly well at dusk or shortly after dark.
