Fota Wildlife Park

I was at the arboretum over the Christmas period (admittedly not the best time to visit) and noticed that there still seemed to be work going on near the Wildlife Park. Specifically, there seemed to be a lot of work being done on a line that went off from the Wildlife Park Car Park towards the rail station.

Now, I was so far away that it was impossible to tell whether pipes were being laid or a path being constructed But there was one thing that I was wondering about – are they planning on getting rid of the separate entrance for people arriving by train? Admittedly the new entrance is closer to the train station, but it is still a fair hike away.

I’ve only seen the new entrance from a distance as well. Initially it looks quite impressive, but I’ll need to see it closer up before giving a final judgement.
