InactiveReturning to Ballsbridge, did anyone notice the invasion-of-the-glass-slabs proposal for the AIB site opposite the RDS?

Reg. no. 3788/09 ”demolition of the existing front blocks and replacement by six 7 – 9 storey slab blocks” that I suspect will not look anything like the pristine ice sheets depicted in the model.[/QUOTE]disgusting

InactiveIt’s as disingenuous as the perma-blue sky in planning renderings.

InactiveDoes anyone notice, the only schemes we are really hearing about in incubation these days are the AIB site in Ballsbridge, the D4 hotels site and the RTE site in Montrose. All within a stone’s throw of one another.
I thought that was a good comment about the glass blocks and superman above. I used to build architectural models at one stage myself. You have to get a second opinion about architectural models, to make sure you aren’t presenting an image that is way, way, way out of whack.
The glass block model photo above is VERY problematic indeed. When you think of the centre of ballsbridge, the history associated with the Royal Dublin Society site and so forth. It is pretty arrogant to say the least to trot out something like that glass block model. It should have been quietly put in a skip somewhere and smashed before anyone would see it.
