Has anyone tried this website to get work? I have tried it recently but with no sucess. Am I being undercut by people doing them as nixers for half the price an office needs to charge to break even? I also have a nagging doubt as to whether some of the jobs ever proceed.
Tried a few myself but no success either and I thought I’d quoted very keenly. I came to the conclusion that some people must be tendering for next to nothing but then somone pointed out that there’s no means of verifying the veracity of any of the advertisments. Could just be Ben Dunne sittin in his office dreaming up house extensions in Stillorgan!!
It’d be interesting to hear if anyone has gotten work from it.
I’ll just ring that premium rate phone number?
Too many of these sites popping up recently.
I would say the site is making the cash as there is no verification of who is winning the work.
Did anyone sign up for the one the RIAI was promoting?

It would be great if the RIAI came out and publicly denounced the thing, that way people/Ben D would know that real architects couldnt be arsed wasting their time on such crap. Incidentally we’ve replied to several ads – all to no avail, and I have yet to hear of anyone getting work from this site.

Sadly, Architects are wasting their money on any leads they can find these days.

This morning I received phonecalls from two sites similar to the above offering me the ‘opportunity’ to price for projects at a minimal fee. The only opportunities I envisage in this current climate is from recommendations from existing/ past clients, which happened to pay off this morning too.

i agree.. .these ‘umberella’ groups are a pariah in any industry in tough economical time when cost i sseen as king…… they have the BER system bottomed out… and now they are trying to do the same to the design professions…
the only thing that can be done is to educate the end user as to teh factors which should be considered when engaging a professional… price should only be one factor.. obviously skillsets and talent should be a much greater factor….

has anyone signed up to this? we haven’t. I doubt many projects have been obtained through this.I have used Tenderme.ie to price many jobs.
Most jobs advertised (about 90%) leave very little detail too give an accurate price.So when pricing you either ask for a site visit to give an accurate price ,or you over price,or under price by as much as 50% without you knowing and this causes upset to the client.But as things are so tight out there I have been pricing to get work without making a profit,just a wage.And all of this on Tenderme.ie .
I have been under pricing jobs by 50% ,which could be priced ,so as just to get a reply phone call.
As of yet I have had no replys.
Also many others I know think this site is of no use of getting work for the following reason.These are all computer generated tenders,or some people have a lot of time on their hands.
Also this site is about 7 years too late.As I get most of my work word of mouth, and from Gumtree.ie,
this is not sour grapes,its just mine and others in my circles experiences of Tenderme.ie .
And if Ben Dunne was to say all these Tenders were Not fabricated, he would be calling himself a liar .So no matter where you look to tender a job ,there will always be cowboys on both sides of the fence.Onlinetrademan is another to steer clear from.

It’s such a random thing for them to promote on their site too. Who made that decision? And why online tradesman? I find it bizarre.

Hmm, think there’s something dodgy here. I’m new to this forum but am quite familiar with Creative Ireland and the same conversations are happening over there regarding graphic design and web design tenders…..
