If I was you I would get some real work experience and start wooing the ESB…
Start to learn around live projects… if you cannot do it here do it somewhere else while you are on holidays.Electricity demand normally only goes higher with more metros luas’s and larger tvs…
so will your pay packet… this is the new sustainable world;) or water treatment plants?

InactiveThought it was just me wearnicehats!
Owen, not sure about textbooks, but HSA website has a lot of good information and Codes of Practice which are worth reading. You could also try the IOSH website where there is info on training etc. The CIF run a short course (1 night/ week over 7-10 weeks) on Managing Safely in Construction. Its also accreditted by IOSH – gives you a good grounding in the subject.
Good luck!

Inactivealways a good idea to know your enemy
read up on books like “the architect’s guide to running a job”. QS’s are bound to use something similar – “see spot count” or something. Engineers too. One of the most valuable assets in any site meeting or “discussion” is knowing your own responsibilities under the contract – but equally so, those of your peers around the table
