KeymasterBelfast’s Ten Square hotel is set for a £60m expansion, creating 75 new jobs in the city. Proposals to build 85 new bedrooms, in addition to an underground swimming pool and conference facilities, are currently with the planning service.
Hotel manager Kevin Smyth said the project would created around 100 much-needed construction jobs. “This is a massive investment and we look forward to the further growth and development of the hotel in the coming years as an asset to the city,” he said.

InactivePaul: Is this anywhere near the City Hall? The corner bldg is decent enough, but the behemoth behind it is just grotesque – where do they have room to expand (or is that just a photomontage)?

KeymasterThat is the photomontage – on Donegall Square. I have photos of the foreground building on my machine at home.

Inactivethe worst thing about this is that it would totally destroy the view of city hall from royal ave. where 99 percent of the tourists currently take photos of city hall….. the hotel tower would be very visable behind city hall.

InactiveI’m confused as to what is there and what isn’t; if the first pic shown is a montage, then is the last a view of what’s already there? If so, the pass has been pretty well sold and there’s not much to be done about it.
