InactiveWasn’t exactly sure where to place this, so thought I would start a new thread (Paul, if you feel it would fit in with an older thread feel free to move).
Anyway, while browsing the excellent RIBA photo collection the other day I came across three images which were referenced as being of Geragh in Sandycove. As you will see, they are of another building, which bears similarities to Geragh, but are not of Geragh itself (at least I am pretty sure not anyway). Does anyone think they can identify it? My first thoughts are the other house that Scott built in Sandycove, which is now quite substantially altered (Laneway off Sandycove Ave East), but maybe someone else might be able to identify them for sure.

InactiveYeah, I was sure too, but just added the brackets in case I was losing it somewhat!:)
Any idea where it is Paul? I know you have done quite a lot on Scott’s work in the past. Perhaps it’s not one of his at all. The other Sandycove house is still my hunch though.

KeymasterI need to go home and open up my files.
I should also get around to scanning my slides of Geragh. - November 17, 2008 at 11:43 pm #804769

Keymasterquite surprised it was marked as Geragh, really quite different… any clue as to whether it still stands?

InactiveIf my hunch stands regarding the other Scott house in Sandycove, then yes (although substantially altered), but otherwise I have no idea.

InactiveHaving emailed RIBA yesterday they got back in touch with me today saying it had been labelled as Geragh in error. They say that it is Tig Mhuire and was built in 1957 for Scott’s sister. From my limited knowledge of the building I think it is now two separate dwellings.

InactiveThis is Tig Mhuire for sale on daft.
This must be the other side of the building or something? I cannot connect the two even from the daft.ie floorplans.
The latter image makes it look stunning. The images on daft don’t do as much for me.

KeymasterInteresting to see The Irish Times, the paper of record don’t you know, called it Scott’s staircase, yet the other article in The Irish Times, the paper of record don’t you know, says it was put in 15 years ago.

InactiveI think the original images are looking from the rear of what now seems to be too houses (the other apprearing on the right of the first image used on the daft site). Both are now substantially altered.
