Gym, Health Spa and visitor accommodation

i’m a young italian architect…
I think you can use as guidelines Peter Zumthor ‘s project for Thermal Bath ,in Vals, Switzerland, for the health spa and visitor accomodation, and Matteo Thun’s project for Therme Meran, Meran, Italy.

Have you tried the Metric Handbook?
It has the basic dimensions for most building types.

Emanuela thank you or your suggestions and I will try and incorporate some aspects of those projects in to my design which is of a much smaller size (approx 1000 -2000 square metres)

Yes I am using the metric handbook, Building Regulations Part B and Part M, and I am referring to the Design Guidance Note by Sport England for bubble diagrams for the layout of spaces.

However it is mainly the building and planning legislation I am concerned about so as I am not breaking any Irish planning laws or building regulations within my proposed design. For example I am looking at the new design standards for new apartments for the overnight accommodation for the recommended minimum floor areas and standards

dont just check part B and M… the building will need to comply with each and every building regulation….
especially look at Part L 2005.

as regards legislation for health spas etc, id suggest contacting the HSE or the HSA
