ParticipantHi guys I was cycling down pigeon house road last Sunday for the first time as was struck by the orginal pigeon house power station a decaying and massive red brick building with a unusual chimney and what looks like a gerorgian mansion next door has anyone more info, or pics? I am intrigued:)

InactiveThere seems to be quite a few overlapping plans for this area at present. I know of about 3.

Then there is the vision for Dublin Bay (third down):

There is definitely one other that I have heard of, but can’t think of its name at the moment. Anyway, I have to admit that I have found it a bit confusing over the last few months and lost track. Anyone know more about what the situation is?

If Poolbeg is too far out, how would you describe Sandyford? Or Meath? π
phil- there’s a new DDDA Masterplan (including a Transportation Strategy), that Framework Plan, the revised North Lotts scheme, a proposed Dublin Bay strategy, and whatever you’re having yourself.
What there is little of is co-ordination, alas.

InactiveWith the development of poolbeg in the near future, I wonder what will be the prefered plan for dublin port will be??Will dublin port be moved or partially moved to the north of dublin??? Looking at dublins city ‘vision for dublin bay’, it looks very interesting but very unlikely it will happen……!! Due to the development of Bremore port by treasury holdings and dublin ports investment in its infrastructure it probably wont happen… BUT I WOULD LIKE THE PORT MOVED!!!

InactiveThat render is awful; if the port is redeveloped they have to do something radical. This cannot be another missed opportunity like the docklands. Highrise buildings should get planning permission with ease, no residential appeals or conservationists to deal with.

InactiveIt is on the Templogue Road..and was said to have had a fireplace made out of bones inside. If you could put an ounce of that creativity into the vision for Dublin port we wouldn’t have to worry, instead it’ll be generic and unsustainable.
