ParticipantJust wondering does anone know of any resources on the net etc for getting nixers in the architecture design trade. Or is it generally a case of referrals from family/ friends. Nixers.com seems to concentrate a lot more on permanent positions.
Cheers.

InactiveWhat is it you need done?
I’ve had the need before for help when there’s a glut of work, and these guys were referred to me by an old colleague who also uses them to do all his domestic work.

I used them to do a tender/construction package for a medium size commercial job, it got me out of a rut and the standard was excellent.
They are architectural technicians who do the drawing work for the architects practise. - January 11, 2008 at 12:08 pm #796828

Inactiveah sorry – I misread your post!
You need PI to certify any work you do. But not to do a planning app., or tender drawings.
Although without the ability to do certs you’ll be leaving your client a bit stuck when they try to get money off the bank! - January 23, 2008 at 2:04 pm #796832

InactiveThanks Archer,
Just to clarify – I’m able to complete a planning application without PI but when it comes to construction do I need to let the contractor decide on details and construction or else will I be liable if something goes wrong? I dont want to embark on anything, get in over my head and leave some poor client with an awful mess to clear up!! - January 23, 2008 at 2:18 pm #796833

Inactivereddy, you have responsibilities under the Health and safety regulations as designer at design and construction stage….. you are exempt on one off houses AFAIK at the design stage, but not at the construction stage. On any non-domestic application you have responsibilities as designer…..
please correct me if i am wrong on this.
