ParticipantNow that most of the buildings on the south quay have been built and some on the north quay, what does everyone think of the way things are shaping up ? Personally I think most of the buildings are extremely bland and boring and resemble more of what a city like Galway or maybe Cork should look like than a capital city like Dublin.
The north Quay still looks like a slum in places and there is one building on the south quay near the new U2 tower which is a complete shambles.
There has been a huge amount of hype and spin about Spencer dock but in reality the buildings are bog standard and like the rest of the buildings along the quays arent that tall
Should they ever go ahead with the mini manhatten this area of the city is going to look extremely poor.

Inactivegiving the age old excuse that there was nothing there before is not enough.
Walking along the quays you can clearly see that almost all the buildings look like they were just thrown up off mundane plans. If you stand on the east link and look down to the city both sides of the quays look pretty small in comparison to the wide liffey.
The liffey is the focal point of the city and there isnt much to marvel at. one block back from the liffey and the front falls away 🙁
