I have lived in a small village seven miles from the centre of Cork City for the last twenty years. By some miracle the village has escaped development up to now. However the county development plan has discovered that we exist.(Look out Brigadoon your next). In a real more enlightened world this would present a fantastic opportunity for a planning authority to create a well designed built environment on a practically blank canvas. Their plans however seem to be based solely around sewage roads and the needs of developers.
The conclusions can only be that there are no planners only facilitators.
So heres to another plague of mini Georgian mansions and a complete lack of any community services.
