ParticipantI was looking for some kind of ranking of arch. offices in Dublin but I couldn’t find.
Can someone give me just few names of big arch offices in Dublin ? or officces that are really have impact on irish architecture ?
Or maybe we could make some kind of ranking… - April 26, 2006 at 12:55 am #777363

ParticipantIt would be very hard to rank all the different practices. I might rank one office highly because I like a paticular development, where as another person might not like them for his own reasons.
There are so many different ways to rank them also- Past Jobs
- Up coming developments
- Development Size (large scale verses smaller)
- Number of employees
- No. of years established
- Specialisation

Participanti’d really like to hear why also, the name on its own looks a little weak without any reason behind it.

ParticipantAll those points are really important.
But currently I’m looking for office that is really “hot” these days I’mean they made project that is really big/important and have gained some awards.
Maybe there should be 2 rankings … 1. The best arch. practice 2. Biggest practices in Dublin - April 29, 2006 at 4:01 pm #777368

ParticipantThe easiest way is to look at past competitions. This site has links to competition winners. From there you will be able to link to the architects website

InactiveAs far as i can tell ODT are one of the only offices in Dublin who are exploring architeture and culture and not just reproducing polite spanish modernism or commercial sheds decorated in louvres masquerading as architecture. but then again if the vast majority of the public dont care about theory or exploration and are happy with a shiny new building then why should we?
