Sustainable house in Laois – novices request some guidance

We are hoping to build a house on a 4 acre site in Laois, and are looking for an architect to design and help us with the project. We would like the house to be appropriate to the area, and to incorporate lots of ‘sustainable energy’ features. We are total novices in the whole area, and would appreciate any advice site members could give, especially in relation to recommending an architect in the vicinity of Laois (Stradbally area), who would take on a project of this nature. Thanks in advance for any help / advice.
