Participantwell is it necessary to put one in.I have a vaulted ceiling with an island below it. The hob will go on the island. I dont want a hugs big tube hanging from the ceiling. Could i just not put one in. I have many openable windows and a velux above

InactiveYou have a few options – some hob manufacturers have an extractor built into the hob; others produce a down-draught extractor. Most can be either vented or have charcoal filters. None of them work very well, and unless you could vent it to the exterior it would not be worth the trouble. Put a sink in the island and the hob next to the wall.;)
