      Good afternoon,

      I was in Dublin over the weekend and I went for a walk around the docklands to see some of the recent jobs. I have been following the progress of the planned U2 tower and I thought I could see the groundworks getting underway. I asked someone and they said that this was not the U2 tower but an adjacent development. Does anyone know what this project is and who is involved?

      hi chris. welcome. i don’t know myself but as for the u2 tower… i can’t see that being built just yet.

      Well quite. As I say I was walking around where I knew it would eventually be and there was this site so I had to ask. By my reckoning the first works on the U2 tower should be early 2007, so I would have been very suprised indeed!

      This job “next door” is something of a mystery.

      just a quick note… i once asked a member of staff at irish rail about the tara street station tower and according to them it should be well under construction by now. it’s not though. i asked them that question well over 2 years ago.

      Can you describe the site? Is there a crane on it? Has anything at all been built on it yet or is it just flat land at the moment?

      There was a crane, they were piling. Well saying that it was the weekend but I could see a piling rig.

      According to a well known website work was meant to start on Alto Vetro and Montevetro this year! I know it’s not Montevetro but could it be Alto Vetro you are talking about? That “should” be under construction. They give dates but don’t stick with them most of the time so I don’t believe that they will start to build the U2 Tower in 2007.
