InactiveHello, Eire! I am working as an architect in Germany but unforunately, as always, the project will be terminated too fast. Generally, economy in Germany is not moving in any direction, not becoming stronger nor weaker. In conversaion with colleagues, I heard about Architects in Ireland with quite a lot of projects.
Please help me finding a point of view for maybe moving to Ireland (vis-Ã -vis my wife and my children 😉 ): how good or bad is the current situation for architects in your country? Can anyone help me with information about an Architect’s Association?
Thank you very much. Christian - May 3, 2005 at 7:26 pm #755561

ParticipantThis questions seems to come up quite often – naturally almost always from New Posters who don’t know where to find previous similar threads.
Perhaps a sticky at the top of the page providing opinion and points of contact would be in order?

ParticipantHi Christian … try http://www.riai.ie for the main professional institute…. there seems to be lots of work although the cost of living is way higher than Germany.

InactiveThanks a lot! Didn’t think about the cost of living yet – is it very much higher than “continental Europe”?

ParticipantThe cost of living…. well I was in Berlin recently and it was like I had just taken paracetamol for a headache that I had for so long I had forgotten how sore it was…. I suppose it was not only a relief of pressure on my wallet but it was a general relaxing of pressure that made me realise that (in Dublin) we are at the forefront of a huge bulge in inflation and even the rats wear designer sports shoes. (The rats in the rat race that is!) Funny… not ha ha.
