I am a final year interior design student in DIT and we are currently researching buildings suitable for use as our final project which starts after christmas. I am interested to know if anyone has any views on what criteria a building should have to be suitable for a retail premises and do you have any exisiting buildings to suggest. I am also considering the inclusion of a restaurant in the complex.
Also, my written thesis is based on retail fitting rooms, (incl. gendered consumption, production of identity, escapism in post-modern shopping, semiotics of fitting room design and the fitting room experience)
If anyone has any views on that topic either, I would be grateful!

……..mmmmmm, I could tell you a lot about ‘gendered consumption’ in ‘fitting’ rooms, but I doubt it would be suitable for this particular site.
