Was in the newly renovated great palm house in Glasnevin at the weekend – an amazing space..they haven’t filled the main area with plants yet – really worth a visit..

It looks great. Interesting article in The Irish Times some time ago.

The palm house is amazing… my favourite place in Dublin after Iveagh Park in Summer 😉

The great Palm house was just an off the peg greenhouse apparantly… but one thing you notice when you go is the economy of the engineering… the opw did a fab job on restoring it… the exterior walkway works also as a retaining ring beam…. v cool.. I’m sure they won’t mind me posting these….

PS I can’t understand why it’s being used as a musical venue at the mo…. those kind of curves are a nightmare for accoustics..

Too late Graham – the plants are already going in.

And yes the acoustics in the empty house are poor, I was at a meeting there while it was empty and it was very hard to hear the speakers, even from a few rows back.
