ParticipantHi,
Does anyone know if the site now occupied by The Iveagh Trust flats on Upr. Kevin St / New Bride Street in Dublin was previously occupied by cottages known as St. Kevins Cottages?
I have a vague recollection of seeing a reference to the cottages on some old family document ( from the late 19th century, IIRC)
but can no longer find it.Any help would be appreciated.
Regards,

InactiveHave a look at ‘Dublin through Space and Time by Angrett Simms and Joe Brady. It does not mention the cottages you are looking for, but it would be a good reference point to start as it deals with the Iveagh Trust scheme. It will probably refer you to look at work by Frederick Aalen, which I know dealt in detail with this part of the city during the 19th century. Best of luck with your research.

ParticipantFantastic chimneys on this scheme – look very sinister from certain angles…

Thanks. Checked out this book today and found it useful. Just a small amount of legwork needed now methinks.
