KeymasterNATIONAL SCULPTURE FACTORY in association with Cork County Council and Cork Institute of Technology offers a: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR SIX-WEEK ARTIST’S RESIDENCY IN NSF
The National Sculpture Factory, in association with Cork County Council and Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) is offering a six-week residency to an artist based in Cork City/County.
It is proposed that the residency will involve a four-week period based in the NSF studio facilities with access to the IT facilities in CIT. The remaining two weeks will be spent in the research, preparation and conclusion of the residency (possibly some form of public intervention).
Depending on the artist’s availability, the studio period will take place from either 7th July – 4th August, or 29th September to 27th October. As part of the residency, the artist will be encouraged to engage with the students of CIT and wider public and will be facilitated to present a temporary work or intervention as part of CIT’s “ArtsFest”, (November 9th – 15th). It is envisaged that the selected artist would be assisted by a student apprentice throughout the residency. The residency will be based on the interface between the rural and the urban in Cork City and County.
The fee for the residency, workshops and intervention/exhibition is EUR2,500. In addition to this a limited budget will be made available for accommodation (if necessary), materials and travel costs.
Closing date for receipt of submissions is Friday 13th June. For further information and a brief please contact: Elma O’Donovan, Administrator, National Sculpture Factory, Albert Road, Cork. Telephone: 021 4314 353,
fax: 021 4313 247 or e-mail: nsf@indigo.ie
