ParticipantI’m possibly moving into the city centre later this year, and My dad seems to thin it wouldbe a good idea to buy an apartment rather than rent. (I’m not inclined to dissagre) however i cannot believe the size:price ratio. He being in the business (a property developer, dont shunt me, they are not all as bad as eachother) agrees that it it laughable that people will pay to live in a shoe box. There has to be some other way to build apartments where families can live within the city centre etc in comfort. If there was it would stop urban sprawl eating up the countryside!

what about that scheme in cherry orchard….cost wise…The one that was fully bought up by investors. It was Dublin Corporation land, jointly developed by them and builders, hence the low cost.
A model of what could be done if the State appropriated all bar a reasonable gain on development land.
But we know that that would hurt Fianna Fail’s friend and so it wont happen.
