ParticipantDidn’t someone say the huge stone wall at the back of the ramp of Connolly is staying put, due to concerns of residents in the apartments? Well it ain’t!
Had a good gawk today onto the site, and stood watching as the granite blocks began to tumble down, from the efforts of diggers etc. There’s a massive pile of beautiful granite sitting on site, and thats only a few strands from the top part of the wall!
The canopy entrance to the station at the top of the ramp is also being dismantled.

ParticipantGraham,
some of the stone work is being retained for re-use to clad the new stairs to the upper levels on Amiens Street side and a new retaining wall on Harbourmaster Place.BTW the stone is mostly Limestone of which there are three distinct types and finishes. The only granite is in a string course and a couple of cills.
The centre of the ramp is constructed from brick arching and over the next few weeks this should become visible.
