ParticipantRemoval of Bus Lane on Gardiner St.
Last Monday I was walking down Gardiner St. in to work & I noticed a ‘Line Removal’ van parked up. That evening on the way home I noticed that the Bus Lane on Lower Gardiner St. had been removed.
Does anyone know why this was removed?
It’s more public transport facilities this city (Dublin) needs not less. Since Thursday I have noticed that people are now choosing to get off Buses heading down Gardiner St. at the northwest corner of Mountjoy Sq. and walk the rest of the way into town. This never was the case while the bus lane was there.

ParticipantEmmm…maybe there is a need to realign the bus lane as a result of the LUAS work. Does anyone know if its removal is permanent?

ParticipantI think the point is that in future cars will come down Gardiner Street and buses down O’Connell Street.

ParticipantJust on the subject of bus lanes/lanas. I thought I saw it all until I saw the bus lane along Grattan Cresent Inchicore where DCC have painted within the bus lane pay and display parking bays ( 7 – 19 hrs) with the result that the bus lane is now consists of both pay and display parking bays on top of the bus lane !! DCC with their magic buckets of paint , they should patent this idea.
