      A lecture by Sean Rothery on modern architecture. This lecture, on modern architecture, which should prove fascinating and thought-provoking, will be given by Sean Rothery, the well known architect and author.

      Not a bad lecture, even if he seemed to forget about Ireland halfway through and go on a meander through the signature works of the 20th Century.

      I thought it was interesting to see some of the members of the Irish Georgian Society nod in agreement when he was praising the buildings of Wright, Le Corb, etc. and Gas Building, Bus Station and so on.

      The lecture suffered a little through lack of time-a lot to cover in one lecture
      would have been a suitable subject for a series of lectures
      The dutch school and their influence on public housing in Dublin in the 1930’s
      The store house in Guinness’ and its influence from Chicago
      Lambay
      “Peter” Rice
      influence of emigrant young architects of the 40’s 50’s 60’s etc
      and so on
