Do you think the Corpo should improve the presentation of Dublin’s street names? I work as a tour guide and I am frequently asked (particularly by Americans) about the location of the name signs. Think about it, they are too small, concealed, and dirty. It would add to the enjoyment of the city if they were jazzed up and made more accessible for visitors.
I am presently involved in trying to preserve Dublins street and road signs.To date i have photographed many of the different signs both pre and post independent Ireland.Unfotunately to date many of these signs have been stolen by greedy Thieving Publicans for their “Oirish” Bars or have been vandelised or damaged.I agree that signing of roads and streets should be made more visable but not at the expense of the old ones.
