ParticipantVery parochial attitude, don’t you think. The design was the best one submitted and, I have no doubt will be a spectacular asset to Dublin. Look where the the same attitude is getting us in Spencer Dock. Kevin Roche is hired because he’s an ex-pat with plenty of society contacts, and what does he do? He transplants unbelieveably ugly american corporate design onto the site. Now thats crap!

Be thankful that people from outside Ireland believe this city to be worthwhile enough to spend time designing things for it- and be doubly thankful that they design structures of such high quality.Shane

InactiveAs one who has been mugged in my own capital city with a needle syringe and a safety pin by two pricks in search of some coppers,’the spike’ is unfortunately an appropriate sign of the heroin times that our city centre not nice at night. Is’nt it (the design) just a copy of the existing cctv metal skikes of Fairveiw and Donnybrook and elsewhere.
