The presbytery / priory to the rear of SS. Augustine and John’s Church on Thomas Street is a tall five storey building finished in red brick, that seems taller when viewed from the surrounding narrow and steeply sloping streets. It has a good entrance porch with carved panel above the recessed doorway. Tall and narrow, the building has chimneys that act as a feature to brick up the repetitive expanse of brickwork and windows, and a dormered attic floor. Ashlin also was to later design the school across the street, also in a red brick finish.
