1910 – Central Collegiate, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

Richard Geoffrey Bunyard (1883-1973) was one of the pioneering architects of southern Saskatchewan, was active in Moose Jaw for nearly twenty-five years. Born in Maidstone, Kent, he articled with a firm in London. In 1902 he emigrated to Winnipeg and worked as a draftsman and clerk. Presumedly during his time in Winnipeg, he met the prominent architect John D. Atchison which whom he collaborated with on the grand school building for the growing city of Moose Jaw. A symmetrical composition centred around a great tower in Collegiate Gothic style, it is an imposing local landmark.
