Designed as a station and port facility, the Art Deco Gare Transatlantique, to accommodate the passengers embarking on the great liners of the age, it was equally massive. AT 558 metres in length with a 90m tall tower, it had dozens of departure halls and retail. The station was capable of processing three full trainloads at a time. Between 1935 and 1940, millions of passenger passed through the building going to the Americas. Destroyed during bombing of Le Havre during the Second World War.
