1862 – Aghadoe House, Killarney, Co. Kerry
Architect: William Atkins
A Victorian house designed by William Atkins which was built in 1862 for Baron Headley. It is believed to incorporate some fabric of an earlier house dating from 1828 by an unknown architect. The house was burnt in 1922 but crudely rebuilt on the same plan with a much-altered roofline in 1925. Little of the interior features survived the fire. It was used by An Óige the Irish Youth Hostel Association from 1957, as Killarney International Youth Hostel, and recently for sale.
