The Former Ottawa City Hall, now a Federal building, is a stone-clad International Style structure of eight storeys. Like other modernist city halls in Canada from this period, the building has a separately expressed Council Chamber. Both share a raised podium of monumental scale, supported on pilotis to create the impression of a floating volume. Now known as the John. G. Diefenbaker Building.
