Just before the outbreak of the First World War, a foundation stone for a church designed by Ralph L. Smith was laid. However a lack of adequate finances delayed erection of the remainder of the building until 1923. This was designed by John H.G. Russell in brick over the stone basement. It became a United Church after the 1925 unification of Methodist, Presbyterian, and Congregational faiths in Canada. In use until 1986, and now housing.
