1868 – Design for Chapel, Lancing College, Sussex

The foundation stone of the chapel was laid in 1868, and the crypt was dedicated on 26 October 1875, at which stage the college began to use it for worship. Structural difficulties and a chronic lack of funds meant that it was another forty-three years before the upper chapel was ready for use; the chapel was consecrated and dedicated to St Mary and St Nicolas in 1911. The proposed tower was abandoned. The building has an incredible interior. Grade I listed.
