1871 – Old Town Hall, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire
Architect: Ernest Bates
Designed by Ernest Bates, in the Renaissance “second empire” style, with a 15-bay main frontage constructed of Cefn sandstone. It has segmental-headed windows on the ground floor, round-headed windows on the first floor and pavilions at roof level. Grade II listed building, now longer in use as a town hall, instead it now houses the Law Courts. Illustration published in The Building News, July 2 1869.
