1962 – Esso Offices, Stillorgan, Co. Dublin
Architect: J.E. Collins
A sprawling low-rise office headquarters for Esso Ireland – their previous Head Office located on O’Connell Street in the city centre. Now demolished, it was previously the site of a large house, The Grange, home of Henry Darley of Darley’s Brewery, which gave the name to Brewery Road. The fountain sculpture in the partially enclosed courtyard was by Ian Stewart. The 11.3-acre site set a record for a public land sale when it was sold in 2004.
