Built circa 1965, the house which is built on a very steep slope, sits on stilts overlooking the sea panorama. Sited below the road allows the house privacy. Its concept is simple and despite the obvious lack of economic problems it is executed with rare skill and discipline. Basic material chosen for construction and finish is concrete, and it has large windows overlooking the bay. The 1,000 sq ft of open plan accommodation with glass walls on all four sides includes a 34′ x 12′ lounge, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The house won the RIAI Silver Medal for Housing.
