1875 – Nos. 119-122 Thomas Street, Dublin
Architect: William Hague
Built 1871-75 to designs by William Hague for Patrick McCabe Fay & Company, wholesale grocers. Finished in granite and brick, it was one of several warehouses in the area in the nineteenth century. Built on the site of the Yellow Lion Inn and adjacent shops and tenements. It was subsequently used by Joseph Delany, a flour merchant, who had a substantial mill in Blanchardstown – products included flours, wheatmeal and Indian meals. Consequently, widely known as the Blanchardstown Mills building. Completely demolished except for the façade in the late 1990s and rebuilt as a mixture of living accommodation and commercial space. Thankfully the facade with its fantastic scale and decorative brickwork has survived.
