Designed by John M. Fairweather in a stripped and late classical style. A tripartite elevation, the central block of seven bays has a central round headed window over the main entrance. The wings are both of two storeys with three bays. Fairweather was Scottish and came to Ireland in 1902 to work in the offices of Anthony Scott. Later joined the Office of Public Works where he remained for the rest of his career. After his retirement in 1947, he became vice-president and then president of the RIAI.
