1965 – Royal Insurance Group, College Green, Dublin

Architect: A.J. Purcell & Associates

Built on the site of the Liverpool, London & Globe Insurance Co., which Royal Insurance had taken over in 1919. Constructed by G. & T. Crampton in 1964-1965. Six storey office building with setback pavilion storey. The ground floor of this has been remodelled.

Royal Insurance was a large insurance business originating in Liverpool in the 1840s but based in London from the early 20th century. It merged with Sun Alliance in 1996 to form the Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Group. Royal Insurance had a building on Dame Street, dating from 1869, that was demolished to make way for the Sam Stephenson Central Bank.
