Described by J.P. Neale in the second edition of Views of Seats ‘The gate house, leading from the town of Antrim to the Castle court has also been added by the present possessor, Thomas Henry Skeffington, and is remarkable for the sympathetic hinges on which the massive gates are opened and closed’.
