TAKA shortlisted for 2014 YAYA

TAKA, the architectural practice of Cian Deegan and Alice Casey, have been shortlisted for the 2014 BD Young Architect of the Year Award (YAYA). Now in its 16th year, YAYA “recognises the most promising new architectural practice in the European Union.”` One of the UK’s largest gatherings of architects, the Architect of the Year Awards reward the practices responsible for the best overall body of work in 13 different categories.

This year’s shortlist of 6 practices includes 2 Spanish practices, 2 UK practices, one from Portugal and one from Ireland (TAKA). The full shortlist: TAKA Architects; LNA; MXSI; Spaceworkers; Threefold Architects; and Paul McAneary Architects. The winner will be announced on the 2nd of December at the Architect of the Year Awards in London.

Previous Irish winners include Niall McLaughlin (1998), Tom dePaor (2003), and Hackett Hall McKnight (2008).
