2003 – Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus, Berlin

With reunification came the need for institutions to accompany the parliament. Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus was built on the banks of the Spree to house the library and Reference and Research Services of the Bundestag. It creates a functional and formal unity with the Paul-Löbe-Haus on the western bank. The two buildings are connected via a public footbridge. The circled volume next to the river is used as the parliamentary library.
