The Bookend Building is sited at the end of Essex Quay looking westwards towards the Wood Quay City Council Offices and over a small public space. It is a small development of ten one-bedroom and three-bedroom apartments with office space and commercial units at street level. The building is uncompromisingly modern with stark white render and sharp detailing. The west façade is treated as a freestanding plane enclosing a series of balconies. Two gabled houses previously stood here.
