The Bell MTS Building, formerly Bank of Montreal Tower, is an elegant and narrow block of 24 floors attached to the side of the former Bank of Montreal at Portage and Main. Built at a cost of approximately $16 million. On an awkwardly angled site, the architects opted to maintain the angle to the property line rather than making the building rectangular in plan. The elevation above the bank is particularly attractive with polished light grey stone clad ribs and anodised aluminum spandrels creating an attractive rhythm.
