1979 – New Ireland Assurance Offices, Cavendish Row, Dublin

Architect: Campbell Conroy Hickey

2955

“New Ireland Assurance Co Ltd topped out their latest property investment in Dublin last month at 7/8 Cavendish Row, Parnell Square, opposite the Gate Theatre. It will be completed by the end of this year for occupation in January 1979. The building consists of 23,600 square feet of usable space in four stories over part basement and has private parking for ten cars. It is centrally heated and serviced by two passenger lifts. The development reproduces the Georgian facades of the original buildings with slated roof over brick-faced front and gable walls complete with brick arches over double-glazed cased timer windows. Stonework to entrances, pedimented doorways, cills and wall cappings are included as well as traditional railings to the basement.”
Plan, June 1978
Now converted into a hotel – Cassidy’s Hotel.
